Biographies for the cast of The Sound of Music |

MARIA RAINER played by Kim Buchanan-- The Sound of Music has always been my favorite musical! I remember running around at family parties singing DO-RE-MI at the top of lungs! I have always loved performing. I started performing at Orchard Elementary school in West Valley City, Utah as Bagheera the panther in the musical The Jungle Book. I went on to participate in, A Christmas Carol, Oklahoma, Fiddler on the Roof and other productions. I enjoyed singing in choirs in high school and attended BYU to major in music. After I married Shawn and while our children were very young I performed with the Viva Voce womens choir in Salt Lake City. Most recently I have enjoyed singing here in Pinedale with my friends George and Doc at the Sublette Center and Rendezvous Point.
